You Are Being Played By Those Crying "Fake News!"

Yes, you are being played. Especially those of you who are upset about Hillary losing the election.

The main-stream media is crying wolf, or more accurately crying "Fake News!" Making mountains out of mole hills. Most of us know this already.

For the most part they are blaming Russia or people in the Baltic states, which makes my B*s*t meter ping at maximum.

They are trying to blame Facebook and Google, attempting to shame them and other social media outlets into censoring users. Facebook and Google do not create the content, they are merely the medium.

You don't see gun manufacturers and gun store owners going to jail because people used their guns to commit crimes do you? So why should Google and Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, or even 4chan be held responsible for any of their content?

There are some other more realistic reasons behind this outcry about "fake news:"

For instance, some Establishment Democrats would like to distract the public from the way they treated Bernie Sanders during the primary. Bernie could have won the election, based on the primary polling numbers.

Some Establishment Republicans and Democrats would like to reign-in and have complete control over communication on the Internet for their own ends.

The Establishment would love to over-regulate media on the Internet to make it less appealing to the public.

Obviously the corporate owners of the main-stream media want to vilify if not completely destroy the alternative Internet media, because they refuse to accept that their main-stream content is stale white bread at best, and at worst, completely deceptive and literally, physically unhealthy corporate propaganda for humans and the environment.

So when you hear on CNN's Reliable Sources, stories about fake news and all its chicanery, think about who is really being served by whining about it.

All you need to do is verify a story with at least two other sources from different or opposing perspectives to weed out the false reporting, which for the most part is just troll humor.

The best part about this is you can find out who the main-stream corporate cronies are who are trying to pass themselves off as alternative media by looking for reporting on "fake news."

How News Was Spun About The Nevada Democratic Convention

You can easily tell bias when a news outlets says "Hillary Wins State X, Bernie Claims Victory in State Y" or "Bernie Wins State X, Hillary Claims Victory in State Y."

The real hardcore gas-lighting of the public can be found in direct insinuations, or even more clever tacit insinuations such as playing the victim or expressing fear from a group you just deliberately incited into a rage.

Here is a table of stark differences between fact and false propaganda.

What Happened What The Mainstream Media Says Happened

The Fourth Estate

The End of Mainstream Media

The Main-Stream Media. Here's a site called the 4th Estate. It's last known post was January 31, 2013

Empire Dusk (08/21/2008)
In the 5th to the last paragraph, I predict the demise of the Mainstream Media. I feel quite vindicated.
The printing press was invented around 1440. I'm just throwing it out there as my interpretation of the birth of the Fourth Estate, but it's debatable. The moniker was said to have been used first in 1787.

When Salon reported the suspension of CNN Reporter Elise Labott for a Tweet. I was inspired to create this post. It seems more frequently that Mainstream Media pulls more dirt over itself. They've become terrified sycophants to the rich and powerful.

CNN apparently has fallen out of favor of the Republican candidates, especially the Trump campaign. At a rally Noah Gray was threatened when he almost strayed off the reservation to cover a protester. The mantle of retribution for the mistreatment of reporters is the virility of the Internet.

In a 2011 Rolling Stone interview, Keith Olbermann describes the self-destructive nature of Corporate Media:
They form together in a massive id and they do whatever they want. In a corporate setting, there's nothing to stop Rupert Murdoch or Disney from doing whatever the hell they want with the news.
The Daily Kos brought up Keith Olbermann in a post titled "Is Comcast Quietly Suffocating MSNBC" January 15th of 2015, Just a few short months later, Ed Schultz was fired, Schultz changed his mind about the Keystone XL Pipeline in March of 2014

With the bulk of mainstream media owned by multinational corporations that spend millions if not billions of dollars on politicians, mainstream journalists find them selves in the middle, being crushed into submission, forced into fawning flattery and asking only softball questions to preserve their careers.

Politicians can now treat reporters badly with impunity. Sally Kohn at the Daily Beast asked "Rope-Ghazi: What Difference Does It Make?" If the reporters can be certain of their future income by crowd-funding their own podcasts and blogs, they might start raising the stakes with their questions.

Being fired from the mainstream media will actually give you more street cred.

COM: Politics and Media Out Of Control

MEDIA
OUT OF
CONTROL
Politico
This is where it all started. It was assumed that Ben Carson actually received a scholarship, but in reality he said he was only offered a scholarship.

USA Today
The original headline was "Ben Carson admits fabricating West Point story, report says" Interesting that USA Today felt the need to change their own headline.

The Washington Post
Here it's explained that Ben Carson was offered a scholarship but didn't take it.

The Washington Post
Here the author states "Ben Carson's admission Friday to Politico that he had not been offered and accepted a full scholarship to West Point could be a major problem for a presidential candidate whose appeal is almost entirely built on his remarkable personal story."

The Daily Caller
The Daily Caller has earned itself space on my list of sources. Politico never made it.
So this is how politicians can bait the media with ambiguous statements, then turn around and attack the media, pointing at the media's sloppy false inferences,

Did this really happen? Was it intentional? There's no way to prove it, but the media is at fault for not doing its homework anyway.

Either way the damage is done to the candidate. The graphics popping up all over the Internet that are mocking the candidate, possibly for something he never did or said, won't go away anytime soon.

News outlets must answer not only for parroting the original story, but now changing their own headlines after the fact to cover up their laziness.

The schadenfreude and groupthink of the media needs to be checked.

The lonlely hours

Two in the morning is a dark time. I somehow manage to wake up at that time most nights.

Television gives me a terrible headache but I can’t sleep. I don’t want to think about anything, but inevitably I think about losing everything when I lost my job in June of 2001.

People I thought were my friends completely abandoned me. They avoided me like the plague. They’ll do that if they think you need them. If that’s what friends do, then I guess I was terribly misinformed by the Bible.

So anyway, it’s about two hours before the newspaper hits the porch, and another two to three hours after that until sunrise. I turn on the radio and listen to National Public Radio (http://www.npr.org) (NPR) on our local public broadcasting station.

NPR broadcasts the BBC (http://www.bbc.com) radio overnight and follows with Morning Edition. The news one hears from these sources is often avoided or distorted by other U.S. News outlets, so it’s interesting to listen and then compare with local news to find the dissemblance.

Now I’m going to bed earlier because I finally found legitimacy on the airwaves in the middle of the night. The drone of news from around the world at first put me back to sleep right away, but I began to see local consequences of the global events reported by the BBC.

These late night broadcasts inspired me to start new websites; www.empiredusk.com and www.atheistinsurgency.com, the latter which was registered this morning and is not up yet.

So sometimes I fall asleep right away, and other times I’m enthralled by what I hear. Like this morning for instance, there was a report about American pension plans (they call schemes) that bought too many mortgages from lenders, not realizing that the mortgages were the new precarious flexible rate, interest only mortgages.

Too many blue chip funds on Wall Street are teetering on financial foundations infused by mortgages that were sold to people who can’t afford to make payments; and during a time gas prices are going back up.

But on the local news, we hear that the economy is doing just fine.

I’m glad I have no 401K or investments.
